O’Connor Hernandez provides mediation and arbitration services through one of its two Founding Shareholders, Patrick J. O’Connor. With 25 years as a litigator and lead trial lawyer, along with 15 years of experience as a private mediator, Mr. O’Connor has both the knowledge of the law and the skills as a neutral to assist parties in resolving a variety of disputes from simple individual disagreements to the largest multi-party multi-national complex litigation matters.
Since 2008, Mr. O’Connor has mediated between private parties to resolve complex disputes, including numerous mediations for the Federal Communications Commission with public and private sector licensees involved in reconfiguration of the 800 MHz spectrum band. Mr. O’Connor is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil Mediator, and he is currently on the appointment list for the Eleventh, Seventeenth, and Nineteenth Judicial Circuits of Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. O’Connor also has arbitration experience before JAMS, the American Arbitration Association, the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) of the World Bank, and the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada, among others.
Mr. O’Connor’s broad experience include torts, breach of contract, negligence, probate, trusts and estates, antitrust, unfair competition, trade secrets, intellectual property, real estate, fraud, defamation, and employment, among many others. Fully fluent in both English and Spanish, Mr. O’Connor routinely mediates and arbitrates in both languages.
