Patricia Hernández focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and international business law. Her courtroom experience includes representing clients before state, federal, and appellate courts across a wide range of contractual and business tort claims. She has also represented clients before domestic and international arbitration tribunals, among them the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes of the World Bank, the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association, and the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce in Sao Paulo. Ms. Hernández also litigates intellectual property rights, including trademark litigation and domain name disputes.
In addition to litigation matters, Ms. Hernández also assists international clients, predominately from Latin America, in a wide range of business transactions, including the formation of business entities, asset protection strategies, and contract negotiations.
Ms. Hernández is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. She also holds a degree in International Business from George Mason University. She is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and is a member of the International Law Section of the Florida Bar and the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. Prior to establishing O’Connor Hernández, Ms. Hernández was an equity partner at Harper Meyer Perez Hagen O’Connor Albert & Dribin LLP.
Ms. Hernández is a native of Guatemala and has traveled extensively through Latin America and Europe. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
